EduLevels was birthed in 2020 out of a deep curiosity—and growing concern over why so many children struggle with reading and how to truly help them. With over 16 years of experience as an educator, I frequently welcomed students at the start of the school year who were already reading below grade level.
Working alongside other passionate literacy teachers, I examined the root causes of these challenges in the diverse, socioeconomically varied schools I served. Over time, I realized that literacy difficulties are not limited to any one group—they affect students across all backgrounds. That realization was the driving force behind EduLevels.
Frustrated with wanting to give more students the gift to read confidently, I returned to the fundamentals of how reading is taught and learned. I developed a structured, meaningful, and engaging approach tailored to the needs of struggling readers. Since then, I’ve remained committed to deepening my expertise. I continue to read widely, research best practices, and grow my literacy knowledge base. I've independently pursued professional development, including LETRS training in the Science of Reading, and have explored countless resources to better understand and address the challenges students face. I'm committed to equipping students with the power of literacy.
