🌼 Kindergarten (Entering K or Rising 1st Graders) Building Strong Literacy Foundations

Our youngest learners develop the foundational skills needed to become confident readers and writers. 

Through engaging, hands-on literacy experiences, students strengthen their understanding of sounds, letters, words, and language.

Students will build skills in:

  • Letter recognition and letter-sound connections 
  • Phonological awareness (hearing and working with sounds in words) 
  • Early decoding and word reading 
  • Vocabulary and oral language development 
  • Beginning writing skills

🐝 1st Grade (Entering or Rising 2nd Graders) Growing Confident Readers & Writers

At this stage, students strengthen the skills needed to become more fluent, independent readers while developing confidence in written expression. 

Students will build skills in:

  • Short and long vowel patterns 
  • Blends, digraphs, and advanced phonics patterns 
  • Word recognition and decoding strategies 
  • Reading accuracy, fluency, and comprehension 
  • Sentence development and early writing skills 

Learning Experiences Include:

Students will build skills in:

  • Reading fluency, accuracy, and expression 
  • Vocabulary development 
  • Reading stamina with increasingly complex texts 
  • Comprehension strategies and critical thinking 
  • Organized writing with details and expanded ideas 
  • Advanced word study, including prefixes, suffixes, and multisyllabic words 

Learning Experiences Include:

3rd-4th Grade (Entering or Rising 4th -5th Grades) Reading Deeper. Writing Stronger. Thinking Critically.

As students move into upper elementary grades, they transition from learning to read to using reading as a tool for deeper understanding. EduLevels helps students strengthen comprehension, expand their thinking, and communicate their ideas effectively through writing.
